I met my husband at the University of Port Elizabeth in 1990. We were both studying there, but found out that we were both from the old Transvaal, where we attended high schools in Pretoria almost adjacent to each other.
As mentioned this is a long story, but the short version, we finally got married in 2005. At the time he was a farm manager on the Springbokflats, where he grew up, near Modimolle (Nylstroom) for Oom Hannes, and Oom Hannes always had a plan.
Well the plan at the time was to build a lodge on the farm, and since Robert’s studies at UPE included Architecture he got involved in designing and building the lodge.
After working on the farm for Oom Hannes for about 13 years, Oom Hannes retired and the lodge became available! Well we took the lodge over from Oom Hannes and started managing it from about 2007 and after about another 10 years the subdivision and transfer was finally finalized and the lodge was ours!!
Well in 2008 our daughter, Kayleigh was born, and that is how it all started!
